I Tho work that will bo undertaken' will bo about as follows. The read-1 ing room will be kept open every day I and evening from 9. a. m. to 10 p. m" and all men will be cordially welcome to use it. The bath rooms will be open to members every day and. even-' ing except Sunday. Tho social par-! lors will also bo open to members all I the time. A men's gospel meeting win oo held every Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock and men of all classes and all shades of religious belief and those having no belief will meet on nn equal footing. The meeting will consist of gospel singing, short ad dresses by the resident nastors nmi Christian laymen and when possible, visiting workers of note will be secured. A week night meeting will bo held and business and nrofessionnl mPTi will be invited to cive uractie.il tnlks i to men on various subjects. Classes! in Bible study, vocal music and other ! branches will be nrrrtnl7oii. This I work is largely an experiment and its lauure has been predicted before it is begun. There is but one hope for it. if it meets a need in the social and moral life of the men of Pendle ton it ought to succeed and it will succeed; If it does not do this we doubt it. Three things are necessarv to malce it succeed: First, the moral and financial support of the community. Second, wise and efficient manage ment of all its affairs by its super intendent. Third, a suitable place to carry on its work. The latter has been secured. We Lave reasonable ground to -believe the former is as sured, and if experience in such work ana a determination to make this a success count for anything, the pres ent superintendent guarantees the rest.
