The $21.000,000 engine plant, now in an advanced stage of construc tion and scheduled for completion late in March, will have its appren tire school facilities in the front section of the building. Among other requirements are rec ommendations from principals of high schools the applicants attend ed, as well as from the placement bureau of the Board of Education. “We ure seeking only -the best material to fill our new training school.” Mr. Searle said. "The ac curacy required in building air plane parts is no greater than that needed in producing automobiles. But we have a slightly different problem when it comes to finish. In «ircraft work, almost all surfaces must be super-smooth or the mater ial will be scrapped, but In car •»arts great smoothness is not re quired in many cases. "Thus, our preliminary training program and the schedule lo he followed in the new school will have to he geared to cover Ibis new ttitude of mind. Boys now being enrolled are started on a three months training course in the present Ford school facilities, which include the Henry e ord Trade school, the Ford train ing school and the Ford apprentice school.
