Confirmation of the grants was also received at Eugene from the PWA officials in Portland. In each case 30 per cent of the actual cost of construction will be an outright grant from the federal nment and the balance will be e form of a loan to be repaid a long period of time f r o m ident building fees. With the approval of these three , ojects, all applications submitted tiy the state board of higher educa tion have been accepted, with the exception of the Infirmary proposed for the University of Oregon. Final action on this has been held up pending, action on a bill before the legislature. The infirm ary planned for the university will cost $100,000. This is the highest total for February of last year. Deliveries in January this year were exceeded in only three months months in 1034. They were April, May and June, which are usually considered the peak months of the spring selling season. Detail deliveries of Ford V-8 .rucks were higher than for any January since 1925. The Ford company recently an nounced its January world produc- ion of V-8 cars and trucks totaled 105,230 units. Domestic production for February has been set to exceed .hat of January.
