C.. on Ihe proposed improvement of ihe harbor at Crescent City, . California, according Io a dispatch from the capital to the Portland Journal Friday morning. The offer of the new hearing is the first action by the army board | known locally since May of last year when the board reported I hat the lagre expenditures necessary to make Crescent City a first class port were not justified. The board was not unanimous in its decision that reversed the hopes of local port and railroad supporters. It was by a resolution of the congressional committee on rivers and harbors that the Crescent City harbor matter was reopened, ac cording to the Journal story, the resolution being dated June 14. 1933, and asking that a review of the Army Board’s adverse report be made. The new proceeding was in stituted pursuant to the committee's request.
