Let’s get that $500 or bust! Yep! W e’re Growing Up! W ith this issue The News comes to its readers just twice its former size. In the last six months it has grown irom a four-page paper, to an eight-page paper. These four new pages which come to you for the first time, this week, are packed with many new features, and we sincere ly hope, that with doubling the size of the paper, we are also doubling its interest to our readers. W e look fondly at I he Gold Hill News, and almost like proud parents, say—"My how it has grown in just a few months.” But what we want to know is—what does the rest of the family think about it? Do vou like the new front page, minus the “Gleanings” We thought maybe it needed its face liltcJd. Do you like its nice fat size? Do you think the serial story and the page of comics increases its pep? And with it«s increasing age and size, do you agree that it should be taking an interest in state and na tional news, along with that of the next door neighbors? We hope the “aunts, uncles and cousins,” of The News reader family will tell us just what they think, for we want to bring our paper up “in the wav it should go,” and wouldn’t “spoil” it for anything. Criticism or praise is welcomed. Come on in, folks an'd let us know. (And maybe your next door neighbor who isn’t a member of the family yet, would like to meet The News. If you take it over this week and show it off, perhaps they would like it well enough to want it to come direct every week!)
