The Inhabitants of that part of Jackson County, Oregon, comprised within the lim its in the next section prescribed, are hereby created a body corporate, aa a municipal corporation, with perpetual succession, under the name and style of th e “City of Oold H ill,” and as such and by such name, they shall have power to sue and be sued, defend and be de fended, plead and be Impleaded, In all th e courts of Justice and In all actions, suits and proceedings w hatever; to purchase, acquire, hold and maintain property o f all kinds, both real and personal, within and w ithout said city, and to lease, sell and dispose of the sam e, for the use of the cRy and for the common benefit; to have and to use a seal and to alter the sam e; to borrow money, and loan money on approved security; Provided, said corporation shall not create any debts or liabilities which In the aggregate shall exceed the sum of fifteen hundred dollars (» 1 5 0 0 .0 0 ) except as hereinafter pro vided.
