That, persuant to a resolution duly passed by the board o f councllm en.
j of the City of Gold Hill, Oregon, and approved by the mayor on the 10th
day of October, 1911, a special election w ill be held in the City of Gold Hill
on the 30th day of October, 1911, for the purpose of subm itting to the
legal voters of the said city a proposition to adopt or to reject a new city
charter, as set forth in said resolution, which charter and resolution are now
on file in the office of the city recorder.
Polling place o f said election w ill be at the City Hall, and the polls
will be open from 1 o ’clock p. m. and close at 7 p. m. o f the said day.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF OOLD HILL.
OREGON.
CHAPTER I.
Of the Incorporation and Boundaries o f the City:
Section 1. The Inhabitants of that part of Jackson County, Oregon,
comprised within the lim its in the next section prescribed, are hereby created
a body corporate, aa a municipal corporation, with perpetual succession,
under the name and style of th e “City of Oold H ill,” and as such and by
such name, they shall have power to sue and be sued, defend and be de
fended, plead and be Impleaded, In all th e courts of Justice and In all actions,
suits and proceedings w hatever; to purchase, acquire, hold and maintain
property o f all kinds, both real and personal, within and w ithout said city,
and to lease, sell and dispose of the sam e, for the use of the cRy and for the
common benefit; to have and to use a seal and to alter the sam e; to borrow
money, and loan money on approved security; Provided, said corporation
shall not create any debts or liabilities which In the aggregate shall exceed
the sum of fifteen hundred dollars (» 1 5 0 0 .0 0 ) except as hereinafter pro
vided.
Section 2. The corporate lim its of the City o f Oold Hill shall Include
all the Lots, Blocks and A lleys, and lhnd lying and being within the follow ing
I’nes, and Including th e Dekum Addition to the City o f Oold Hill:
Beginning at a point on the North Hank of Rogue River where the
section line between Sections (2 1 -2 2 ) tw enty-one and tw enty-tw o. In Town
ship thirty-six. South of Range Three W est, W illam ette Meridian, In the
County of Jackson, State of Oregon, Intersects with the said North Hank
of Rogue River; thence E asterly follow ing the meander lines of the snld
North Bank o f the R iver to the South lin e of the Oregon and California
Railroad track; thence In a N ortherly direction to the Southeast corner
of Block number E leven (1 1 ) In the City of Gold Hill; thence North along
the W est lin e o f the County Road to the point, where the sam e intersects
the North line of Lot numbered F ive (5 ) in Section number F ifteen (1 5 )
said Township ahd R ange; thence West along the said North line of Lot
Five (5 ) to the N orthwest corner of the said Lot Five ( 5 ) ; thence west
along tbe quarter Section line to the half section line of Section Sixteen (1 6 ):
thence South along th e said half section line to the point where the same
Intersects the South line of the Oregon and California Railroad right-of-way;
thence Easterly along the line o f the said right-of-way to where the same
Intersects the section line between section tw enty-one and twenty-two
(2 1 -2 2 ); ttyence South along said Section line, to Ihe North Bank of Rogue

Section 3. Said city shall be divided Into not less than two (2 ) wards,
the boundaries of which shall be fixed by the city council, ppd the sam e may
be changed and new wards created by ordinance, hut the number of wards
