H eretofore this ra il way has always been operated by w ater power, but in view of the fact th a t during the great ice bridges, when tourists flock to see this m arvelous sight, from all over the state, the rail- wav is usually inoperative. T his has been due to the chocking of the in ta k e with ice and very often too low water. As there is no other means of access w ithout a tedious descent and ascent, the tourists have been greatly incon- venienced, and the m anagem ent have lost considerable money.
