On tho next evening In company with Kugene Prlco W.'c.T. of Xo. SJS, J. II. Lyons of No. 1203, John Packer L.D. of No. 57, C. H. Frush, More, and Clag gett, and Sisters Manldin, Kellogg, and Laura and Viola Frush have done much to keep the work tjoving. lion. M. C. George is a member of this Lodge and on tho even ing named made us a speech that was in deed a tine thing. Bro. George Is ono of our staunchest temperanco men. We will hear from him in the present Legislature. On i tho next evening we had a large turnout and and a splendid time at a regular meeting of Nonpariel Lodge. It being Bro. Ormsby's Bfty-third birthday he invited all his Good Templar friends to meet him in the hall of hir Lodge and partake of the treat he had prepared for them. It will be long ere those present will forget the kindness of this old veteran in the temperance work. During the evening Bro. Ormsby was surprised on lininc Pilllnd tn thnnnntn nf the Woll an.l I presented with a line ring which had been I purchased for him by members of the Order present. No. 80 is doing excellent work for the cause of temperance and my young friend C. H. Whitney, assisted by Mrs. S. T. W. Stearns, Annie Stearns, the Kltcbev sisters, Halle Rowan, Mrs. Hicks, C. P. Yates and othors too numerous to mention Is making it one of the best Lodges in the iurisdlctlon. Reports received from Lodges show a good work for this season of year and we have every reason to thank God and take fresh courage lor tue cause. Annie E. Pissing In at the wostcrn front, through the entrance hall and past the rotunda to the cast hide of tho building, wo II rid a broad lloor, and cr tho main Court room grand hall, two stories in height, for tho per manent Hall of Representatives. So far as tho building is completed It is a credit to Oregon, and built at leasonable cost to tho State. About a quarter of a million dollars has been expended, mid as much more will have to be used to completo It from base to dome. What the effect mav be when com pleted we do not know, but the only fault that appears now Is that tho building 'seems, too low for its other dimensions to be in good keeping. Ni:v Music Sherman and Hyde, the well-known San Francisco music publishers, have sent us the following new music: Wagner's Grand Centennial March, sot to the Cplauo by Theodore Thomas; anew and charming song, Is my darling true to me; a a tine anthem by a San Francisco artist, and other excellent pieces. Messrs. Sherman t ilyde seem determined to build up a busi ness in Oregon and deal in pianos, organs, sheet music and musical publications. They can be found up Front St., above the National Bank. .They are canvassing our State for tho sale or the Standard Organ, which is truly a magnificent Instrument. The Albany Democrat says: "The fall grain is now uearly all threshed and work in the harvest field has almost stopped on ac count of the lateness of the spring crop, but the farmers think they will be able to re sume operations by the latter part of the coming week. It seems to be tue general opinion of our largest grain raisers that the crop in Linn county will fail short of the usual amount fully one-third. The grain is uniformly plump and the beads are well tilled, but owing to the unprecedented rain rail last spring, it stands very thin on the ground." ' How to Vnnqiilsli tlio Sloruncli's Tor mentor. If the Enemy of Mankind a permitted to ex.rt his diabolical Ingenuity in iho invention of a new dis ease, he could scarcely devise one more worthy of his genius than Dyspepsia. The djspeptlc uilercr is tormented bv symptoms resembling tho-e of almost every known malady, and Is often vvotned Into mono mania by these conlliitln; and perplexing manifesta tions. A favorite, though absurd, hallucination ofthe victim of chronic Indigestion is that he or she has heart disease. Dyspepsia has often been pronounced incurablo, but experience has show n that Ilostcttcr's Stomach Bitters will vanquish It. together with the constipation and bilious derangement which usually accompany It. Dlieases of the kidneys and supposed rheumatic pains are ali-o frequent concomitants of dyspepsia, but they, too, succumb to the above named Invaluable corrective.
