BG: I would hope so. I would hope that while we made a movie about faith, that it’s not necessarily only about Catholicism. And I’d also hope that the notion of disillusionment wouldn’t be seen as the exclusive province of the Irish. The context is the Irish land- scape, and the Irish story of the moment, with all of the treachery in terms of the spiritual, economic and political leadership. There have been horrible short- comings, with hurt and pain being inflicted upon people. But I don’t think that’s exclusive to the Irish. Many people find it difficult to believe in leadership any- more. What do you replace it with, though? That’s kind of what the movie’s all about. The idea of replacing flawed leadership with cyn- icism and despair isn’t a barrel of laughs, either. So, I hope the film is thought- provoking in a generalized way as opposed as to being read as simply specific to the Irish point-of-view. The total building construction cost is projected to be approximately $65 Million. The MEP scope of work is currently at a schematic design level, without fully defined costs. Proposals will not be considered unless RECEIVED by 2:00 P.M. PST on August 15, 2014, and fully com- pleted in the manner provided by the “Instructions to Proposers”. The scope of work for this proposal includes mechanical, plumbing, electrical (inclusive of low voltage), and fire sprinkler work only (Design-Build only for fire sprinklers) for the construction of a new 3 story 85,000 SF gymna- sium building, and new 2 story 75,000 SF performing arts building with full performance theater, remodel of existing theater into a new library and classroom spaces, full remodel and seismic upgrade to the existing 1921 building, and demolition of the existing cafeteria / kitchen building, existing gym and classroom building, existing boiler building, existing arts building, and existing shop building. In accordance with Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR) 580-063-0020, Lewis will use the request for pro- posals (RFP) competitive procurement process to select and enter into a Contract with Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, and Fire Sprinkler firms. Plumbing and Mechanical RFPs may be submitted by companies indi- vidually or as a single package. Either way, costs must be separated by scope of work into Plumbing and Mechanical sections. “NOTICE OF REQUIREMENT FOR AFFIRMATIVE ACTION TO ENSURE EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY (Executive order 11246)”. Lewis intends to enter into a contract with the selected firms for work that will initially include Preconstruction Phase Services only. There are provisions for adding Construction Phase Services at the sole discretion of Lewis through acceptance of a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) by contract amendment. Lease Crutcher Lewis, LLC (CM/GC) is committed to taking affirmative action to encourage and facilitate the participation of minority, women-owned, and emerging small business enterprises (M/W/ESBE) in projects and encourage Subcontractors to provide similar opportuni- ties for their subcontractors / vendors. PPS has set an M/W/ESBE participation goal for this project and sub- contractor participation in achieving this goal is strongly encouraged.
