At Linfield’s Portland Campus, students major in nursing and health sciences. Residence hall, class- rooms, labs, and library are located in NW Portland next to Legacy Good Samaritan Medical Center. The Adult Degree Program offers bachelor’s degrees in eight majors; accounting, arts & humanities, busi- uo Honors College, good for research W ness information systems, international business, man- agement, nursing (RN to BSN), social & behavioral sciences, and marketing, with courses delivered prima- rily online. Internet access and a web browser are all that a stu- dent needs to have their own personal classroom. Adult Degree Program students are eligible to begin at Linfield with any number of previous college credits. Adult Degree Program also offers classes on the Portland campus one evening per week, and through hybrid classes that blend face-to-face meetings twice a month with online communication. Linfield offers four professional certificate pro- grams; Human Resource Management, Marketing, Computer Information Systems and the Post Baccalaureate Accounting Certificate. Financial Aid is offered to all Linfield College stu- dents. The majority of the students take advantage of some form of scholarship or financial aid to help finance their education. Linfield College offers three unique programs, in order to meet the educational needs of many. hen Ann Oluloro pre- pared to graduate from Madison High School in Portland, she chose the University of Oregon for it’s “location, the Honors College, and the university’s strong rep- utation in scientific research.” Oluloro is now a UO junior who interned with doctors in Bolivia and assists with faculty research. She plans to become a doctor to help the underserved through community clinics. Oluloro is one of many UO heroes who are making a differ- ence in our world, while earn- ing their UO degrees. UO students are welcomed into a community that embraces new ideas and encourages you to put your ideas into action. With a student-teacher ratio of 19:1 and an average class size of 22 students, you’ll discover that it’s easy to connect with faculty members who can help to turn your dreams into reality. Students at the UO choose from 271 academic programs, many of them ranked as among the best in the world. Ann Oluloro is pursuing a degree in biology and biochemistry. She works in Janis Week’s neuro- science lab, developing new drug technology. The UO’s neu- roscience program is one of many that rank in the top ten in the U.S. Others include chem- istry, economics, English, psy- chology, molecular biology, biochemistry, physics, and sports marketing. Students from fifty U.S. states and 85 countries around the world attend the UO. Over the past five years, the UO wel- comed more underrepresented minority students than ever before. The UO is a national leader, and the top university in Oregon, for graduation rates of underrepresented students. The University of Oregon has been part of the Portland com- munity since 1884.
