Prizes in the national contest will total $3,000, and trips to New York for the champions. In addition, Smart Crochet magazine is offering another $600 in prizes for crocheted pieces featuring original design. AU pieces submitted for this contest should be marked "original design." The finals in the 1955 national crochet contest will be in New York, and open to any" crocheter awarded the special contest blue ribbon at Lane County Fair. National awards will include $500 for the grand national champion, and $100 each to teen-age and men's champions. All three will win a trip to New York. There will be hundreds of other cash prizes. Entries must be made of mer cerized cotton thread in any size up to and including 100. Mer cerized cotton with metallic strand is also acceptable. All entries must be completed since Jan. 1, 1955, though they may have been started earlier. Any number of articles may be entered. Members of the sorority will meet once each month during the summer for social activities.
