Enter Contest
Winners in crochet classes of
the textile division at the 1955
Lane County Fair will again be
eligible to compete fof prizes
in the national crochet contest,
Mrs. Mary -ne, division super
intendent, announced this week.
Prizes in the national contest will
total $3,000, and trips to New
York for the champions.
In addition, Smart Crochet
magazine is offering another $600
in prizes for crocheted pieces
featuring original design. AU
pieces submitted for this contest
should be marked "original design."
The finals in the 1955 national
crochet contest will be in New
York, and open to any" crocheter
awarded the special contest blue
ribbon at Lane County Fair.
National awards will include $500
for the grand national champion,
and $100 each to teen-age and
men's champions. All three will
win a trip to New York. There
will be hundreds of other cash
prizes.
Entries must be made of mer
cerized cotton thread in any size
up to and including 100. Mer
cerized cotton with metallic
strand is also acceptable.
All entries must be completed
since Jan. 1, 1955, though they
may have been started earlier.
Any number of articles may be
entered.

and means committee and Mrs.
Fred Gregory gave the year's

To Install Officers
Women of the Moose will have
their final business meeting until
fall and initiation on Wednesday
at 8 p.m. at the Moose Hall. New
officers will be installed follow
ing the meeting at which Mrs.
Royal Carter, senior regent, will
preside. t
Installing officers are: Mrs.
Delia Bartlett, chairman; Mrs,
Vern Smith, regent; Mrs. C. T.
Bresler, guide; Mrs. Mel Lusk,
chaplain; Mrs. Margaret Bow
man, musician. Wayne Jenkins
of the University of Oregon will
sing several solos, accompanied
by Mrs. Bowman.

of the refreshment committee.
