A special program of musical and dramatic numbers was given in honor of Mrs. Drury and Mrs. Stolsig. Diamond Rebekah Lodge closed the program by a drill team ceremony in honor of Mrs. Drury. Charles P. Poole, past grand master gave the invoca tion and benediction. Refreshments were served at the close of the reception. Mrs. Earl Williams had charge of Mrs. Drury's guest bonk and Mrs. Walt er E. Chase had charge of her gift table. MISS JUDITH ELIZABETH JOHNSON'S engagement to Derald F. Himber was an nounced recently at an open house for which her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold F, John son, entertained a group of friends at their new home on Lnrane Highway. Organ Society P-lans Charter Committee chairmen for the newly-organized chapter of the Hammond Organ Society were ap pointed from the board of di rectors by President Claude Dar ling at a recent board meeting at the Darling home. Appointments were as follows: Mrs. H. G. Chickering, member ship; Mrs. P. E. Hansen, program; Dr. Daniel P. Bond, special events; Mrs. Rudolph Jans, Guilds', Brian Graves, publicity; Mrs. William Ziniker, refresh ments; Mrs. Arthur Holland Jr., education. The following suggestions were discussed and will be recom mended for approval at the char ter meeting of the society June 30 at the home of Mrs. Eva Graves, 1240 Mill St.: 1. The name to be the Eugene Chapter of the Hammond Organ Society. 2. The general society meeting is to be once a month and the respective guilds to meet once a month. 3. The initiation fee (for a family as a whole) be $10 and dues $5 per year. 4. The fiscal year to be from June i lo June i. a. The constitution to be ac cepted as such with the addition of two articles concerning (a) the term of office and Constitu tional Amendments (b) financial obligations and surety bonds for secretary and treasurer. Besides those named, Orville W. Cooke also was present. At the conclusion of the meeting refreshments were served by Mrs. Darling. There will be a report on the national convention and refreshments will be served. GRACE LUTHERAN GUILD Woman's Guild of Grace Luth eran Church will meet Thursday at 8 p.m. The meeting will be at the home of Mrs. George D. Gauche, 1643 Lincoln St. It will be the monthly meeting. SPRINGFIELD BAPTIST WOMEN TO MEET Women of Springfield First Baptist Church will have four meetings Tuesday. Crowder, 206 W. 20lh Ave., will leave Tuesday for Que bec to attend the golden anniver sary convention of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. The conclave will be June 25 to 30 at Chateau Frontcnac. Mrs. Crowder, a dele gate of the alumnae chapter, has been president of the executive board of the sorority for five years. She will be accompanied by Miss Marlene Perry of Coos Bay, next year s undergraduate chap ter president at the University of Oregon. Following the conven tion, Mrs. Crowder and Miss Per ry will visit in Springfield, Mass., New York City and Washington D. C, returning to Eugene July 11. The club meets each Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at Washington Street Recreation Center. Anyone 50 years of age or old er is welcome to attend the meet ings. There are no fees or dues to pay. A brief business meeting is followed by a program each week. Then refreshments, which are taken by the members, are served, and two hours of free dancing or cards follow.
