6b Register-Guard, Eugene, Ore., Sun., Sept. 21, 1952 i-Vv -lav mi t Robertson-Long Rite Recent Varied shades of purple com bined with pink formed the set ting for the wedding of Miss Patricia Jean Long to Donald Lawrence Robertson at United Lutheran Church. The He Charles Epple performed the cer emony Sept. 7 at 2 p.m. Orchid and pink gladiolus and orchid Fuji chrysanthemums dec orated the church, with candel abra in the background. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin G. Long, wore a bridal dress fashioned with full satin train the skirt gathered to a bodice of Chantilly lace that came to a point at the waistline. Neckline of the bodice was scal loped onto a net yoke. Chantilly lace panels formed Inserts down the front of the skirt. Her illusion veil fell the full length of her train. It was at tached to a crown of scalloped lace studded with seed pearls, hue carried a cascade bouquet of white Fuji chrysanthemums and steph anotis tied with white satin bow and streamers. Attendants were gowned alike In dresses made with velvet bod Ices and matching stoles, and full gathered nylon net skirts over taffeta. All wore headbands de signed of matching nylon net, puffed to form clusters for pink rosebuds. Miss Joan Long, maid of honor, wore purple. She carried a cas cade of orchid chrysanthemums tied with pink satin. Other attendants were Miss Dar lene Marentette and Mrs. Ernest Grosso, both of whom wore pea cock blue and carried cascades of orchid chrysanthemums. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. D. Robertson, was at tended by Joseph Kehrli who acted as best jnan. Ushers were jtobert King and William Tuck. Preceding the ceremony, Chris tine. Bach, flower girl, scattered rose petals down the aisle. Her dress was orchid satin with nylon edged ruffles. Larry Hettick was ring bearer and candles were lighted by James Copenhaver and Frank Bell. Miss Jane Conger sang "I Love Thee," "Because" and "The Wed ding Prayer," accompanied by Mrs. O. P. Nordling at the organ. Mr. Long gave his daughter in marriage. At the reception In the church parlors Mrs. Gilbert Copenhaver cut the cake, Mrs. Fred Schar served punch and Mrs. Henry Beistel poured coffee. Orchid, pink and white asters decorated the rooms. I For a wedding trip to San Fran cisco, Lake Tahoe and Keno the bride wore a brown suit with mink-colored accessories and a corsage of yellow rosebuds. Mr. and Mrs. Robertson are now at home at Corvallis where the bride will enroll as a freshman in secretarial science and her hus band is completing his year in pharmacy. J. Morrow of Nanton, Alberta, Legion Auxiliary Sponsors Benefit Party on Tuesday American Legion Auxiliary will sponsor a benefit card parly Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Building. The public is invited to attend. Mrs. Earle Ncstell is general chairman for the affair. Mrs. George Thorpe has charge of tickets, Mrs. Noble Bond, prizes: Mrs. Glen Lewis, tallies and cards; Mrs. Elmer Geiger, pub licity; and Mrs. Ed Mack, re freshments. Hostesses will be Mrs. Gene Thaxton, auction; Mrs. R. L. Moon, canasta; Mrs. Jack George, pinochle; Mrs. Clarence Urey, contract. Whiteaker School To Fete Teachers Whiteaker PTA will have a re ception for the teachers at the school Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Mrs. Gerald A. Penbroeder, prin cipal, will introduce the faculty. The program will be a "Let's Get Acquainted Party," with Mrs. Ralph Lake as master of cere monies. A special invitation is extended to parents of children in the first grades, and to all par ents new to the school, to attend and meet the teaching staff. Refreshments will be served by the PTA executive committee. Mental Health To Be Topic For Jaycee-ettes Springfield Jayce-ettes will meet Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Jack Lively, 1S20 C St., with Mrs. R. E. McAnulty assisting the hostess. Plans are to be made for a din ner meeting in October. The program is to he furnished by the Lane County Mental Health Association. Past Matrons Meet Past Matrona of the Blue River chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, will have its first fall meet ing Monday at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth M. Forsythe, 1208 E. 19th St. Mrs. Fred Chandler and Mrs. S. E. Faith will be. co-hostesses for the 12:45 p.m. luncheon. All visiting past matrons are invited to attend.
