Miss Janet Celesta Towlerton and Lloyd Myers were married Jan 1 at River Road Baptist Chapel. The Rev. W. M. Whit well, pastor, performed the double-ring ceremony, at 3 p.m. before 100 guests. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Towlerton of Eugene, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. S. S. Myers of Gerald ine, Mont. Given in marriage by her fa ther, the bride wore a ballerina- length dress of white net with - lace bodice and full skirt with pointed lace insets. The dress had sleeves, and was worn with lace mitts. She wore a gold band ring more than 100 years old which has been in her father's family. Her fingertip veil of illusion was edged in lace and was held by a tiara of lace and beads. She carried white or chids and stephanotis on a white Bible. ; Miss Edith Towlerton was her : sister's maid of honor, dressed in a gown of - orchid net. Flora Gent, Susan Conant, Rose i mary Hall and Harriett John ; ston, dressed in green, rose, blue and yellow. They carried nose gays of pink and yellow rose buds and white chrysanthe j mums. Little Judy Domer of Missoula. Mont, niece of the groom, and Sandra Towlerton, cousin of the bride, were flower girls, dressed in floor length gowns of white organdy over blue. Tapers were lighted by Miss Evelyn Madsen. The groom's best man was his brother-in-law, E. S. Domer of Missoula, and ushers were Mark Towlerton, Jerry Domer, Wayne Tucker and James Partridge. Following the ceremony there was a reception at the church where guests were served from the bride's table covered with a lace cloth. The cake was cut by the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. E. S. DoMer. The bridesmaids assisted with serving punch and coffee, and Miss Kim Sem pre sented the guest book. Special guests were the bride's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. .E E. Towlerton of Goshen. Following a wedding trip the couple will live at Square Butte, Mont, S. D. Club Listed Members of S. D. Club will meet Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. William F. The Rev. Byron D. Hughes of Central Presbyterian Church heard the couple repeat their vows at 8 p.m. before 200 guests. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. George H. Shaffer and Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Hebert, all of Eugene. A wedding gown of white sat in with an off-the-shoulder net yoke and wide lace bertha collar was worn by the bride, who was given in marriage by her father. The fitted bodice of the dress, pointed in back and front, joined the full skirt which fell into a full train. Her fingertip veil of illusion net was held in place by a Juliet cap of lace. At her neck she wore a necklace of rhine stones, gift of her parents. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses and stephanotis centered by a white orchid on a white Bible. The Bible was the gift of her paternal grandpar ents. Dressed in identically fash ioned dresses were the maid of honor, Miss Jacqueline Wolcott, cousin of the bride, and Misses Mar.iorie Cross, Janet and Jean Wildish, bridesmaids. Miss Wol cott wore cinnamon taffeta and the three maids wore gold taf feta, made with low neck fitted bodice, cap sleeves and full skirts. Miss Wolcott had a neck band and sash of gold velvet and the maids wore brown vel vet trimmings. All had wreaths of gold chrysanthemums at the back of their hair and carried colonial bouquets of bronze, yel low and white chrysanthemums. Little Mary Francis Hebert, cousin of the groom, was flower girl, dressed in gold taffeta iden tical to that of the other attend ants. She carried a basket of gold and bronze mums. Mrs. Ruth Magart, organist, played organ music, the wedding march es and accompanied Donald Nee ly, who sang, "O Promise Me" and "Because." Attending the' groom as best man was James Wildish, and ushers were Donald Birran, Clarence Everts, Clark Hollis and James Gay, the latter a cousin of the groom, of Salem. Wheeler Room of the church was decorated with poinsettias, holly and evergreens for the re ception. Miss Carlene Petersen presented the guest book. The bride's table was laid with a lace cloth, centered by a four tiered wedding cake, and had crystal candelabra with white tapers at either end. The cake was decorated in pink rosebuds, silver leaves and lily of the val ley. A garland of gardenia blos soms and wild huckleberry was around the base of the cake. A cousin of the bride, Mrs. Philip Wolcott Jr., cut the cake. Miss Jacqueline Eccles, also a cousin, poured punch, and Mrs. C. O. Matteson, an aunt of the groom, poured coffee. Assisting with the serving were Misses Nancy Cross, Yvonne Young quist, Charlene Vogel and Karen Petersen. Following a wedding trip the couple will be at home at T09 W. Broadway. For her going away costume the bride wore a raspberry knit suit with navy coat and accessories and the or chid from her wedding bouquet. ERNEST GROSSO (Nan cy Seals) is a recent bride, mar ried in First Christian Church, and now at home in Eugene, Christian Council Announces Program Christian Business and Profes sional Women's Council of Eu gene will hold its monthly dinner meeting Monday at 6 p.m. in the Blue Room of the Osburn Hotel. This is the first meeting of the year. Jim Mercer, former atheist and 4-star athlete, will talk. He is described as a young and dy namic speaker. Miss Elouise Hoisington will sing, and Miss Mildred Thomp son will play her accompani ments. There also will be a spec ial surprise feature. Bridegroom's Father Performs Ceremony A New Year's Day ceremony wedded Miss Patricia Fisher and Frank Machette Jr., at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. F. E. Machette of Eugene. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Roy Lay ton, also of Eugene., The noon service was read by the groom's father, who is a retired minister. Four-H Club to Meet Condon Sew and Chatter Four H Club will meet Monday at the home of Mrs. Byron Jackson, 2225 Riverview St. New offi cers, who were elected at the last meeting, are Pat Mercer, president; Jarllyn Jackson, vice president; Zetta McDonald, sec retary; Pamela Robinson, re porter; Randy Fennell, song leader; Bernice McDonald, rec reation leader; Nancy Switzer, assistant recreation leader; Carol Jacobs, pledge leader. Grosso-Seals Rites Recent The marriage of Miss Nancy Seals to Ernest Roy Grosso took place in First Christian Church the evening of Dec. 22. The Rev. Carroll Roberts officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon O. Seals, and Mrs. Vera F. Grosso is the bride- , groom's mother. ! Poinsettias, evergreens and white candles decorated the i church, and white chrysanthe mums were placed in tall bas kets. Miss Dolores Robbins sang "I Love You Truly" and "The Lord's Prayer" before the cere mony, accompanied at the or gan by Nelle Murphy Dickson. The bride, given by her fa ther, wore a dress of white sat in with net overskirt, the net yoke outlined with rosettes of net in form of rosebuds. The ballerina-length skirt was worn over crinoline and hoops. Mitts met the cap sleeves. Her net veil was shoulder length, held by a pearl-trimmed cap in halo form. Her flowers were stepha notis and carnations, with gar denias at center. Mrs. John Lilyengren of Seat tle was matron attendant for her sister. She wore blue satin net overskirt, and carried yel low chrysanthemums. John Lilyengren was best man and ushers were James Brad ford and Jack Eckstein, both of Eugene. Candlelighters were Miss Darlene Marentette and Miss Marie Cantrell. At the reception in the church , parlors afterward, Mrs. Robert Bailey of Coos Bay, aunt of the bride, cut the cake. Mrs. E. A. Goodnough poured coffee and Mrs. Mary Casciano served punch. Mrs. James Lillie, anoth er aunt, assisted. Miss Donna Wilcox had the guest book.
