Mrs. Neil Torrey served punch and Mrs. William Robert had charge of the guest book. The mantel had an arrangement of white and maroon gladiolus, and the table was decorated with pink rose buds and pink and white asters. Mr. and Mrs. Torrey went on a wedding trip to Mexico Citv, Mexico. They will live at 1332 Lawrence Street after Septem ber 15. Miller of Junction City, Miss Virginia R. Sparling of Eugene was married to Michael W. Matychuck of Springfield, Friday evening, August 12 at six-thirty o'clock. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Hazel Cozad of San Fer nando, Calif. The Rev. W. B. Empey, retired pastor of the Methodist Church, performed the ceremony, before a small group of relatives and close friends. The bride wore a light green suit with brown accessories and a corsage of baby yellow roses. Mrs. William Bryan who attend ed her wore a pale pink suit with a corsage of white gladio lus. William Bryan acted as best man. The couple left on a wedding trip up the McKenzie River, and will be at home in Eugene at 2729 Alder Street. Mrs. Wiley was graduated in June 1948 from the University of Oregon, and is a member of Delta Gamma Sorority. Mr. Wiley was graduated from the university in June 1349 and is affiliated with Phi Delia Theta. New Association Of Women Golfers To Have Meet Here Second sweepstakes tourna ment of the Willamette Valley Southern Oregon Women's Golf Association will be played Wed nesday at the Eugene Country Club, announces Mrs. David B. Evans, president of the newly formed group. The association was formed in May, and played its first tournament at Klamath Falls in June. In addition to the sweepstakes, a special trophy has been pro vided by the Eugene women, which will be played on by teams from the various member clubs. The six best net scores for each olub will determine the teams, and the winners. The trophy will be awarded permanently, after several years' play, but details and rules are not definitely ar ranged. Member clubs of the associa tion are, besides Eugene, Bend Roseburg, Grants Pass, Medford and Klamath Falls. Two mem bers from each club serve on the board, Mrs. A. W. Stien and . Mrs. S. A.
