Famed atomic physicist Dr. Karl T. Compton compares the present development of atomic energy to that of steam power when "Watt first noticed the lid of the kettle bumping up and down." Dr. Compton la heading a party of the Research and Development Board of the National Military Establishment on an Inspection tour of the Hanford works here.
