New English Cars To Be Shown Here The English-built econimy cars the Anglia and the Prefect will be on display for the first time in the Northwest Friday at 1290 Olive Street. There are four models: a two door sedan, the Anglia; a four door sedan, the Prefect; quarter ton truck and half-ton truck, known as the Thames. All are powered with a four cylinder L-head engine generating 30 horsepower. The motor has been described as a "short model A" block with force feed lubrica tion. The cars have good accelera tion, a cruising speed of SO miles an hour and economy of 35 miles per gallon of gasoline. , - The wheolbase of the Prefect is 04 Inches, and the other three models, 90 inches. The motor in the half-ton truck is installed off center to move the driver up for ward as in a cab-over-engine Job. ' Overall length of the car is 196 inches, overall width is 97 inches and height, 63A inches. Reminiscent of a generation ago, there is a complete tool kit in the trunk, with enough tools to fix almost any part of the car. The traffic signal is not a light, but a lighted arm, protruding from the side of the body in response to the indicator lever on- the steering wheel. For changing tires, during rainy weather, there are four holes in the floorboard through which the Jack may be slipped for raising any wheel. PACING AMERICA WITH SENSIBLE PRICES . . .
