Firemen Landed, Situation in Hand WASHINGTON W lire swept a Marine Corps warehouse and an adjoining building during a sleetstorm early Wednesday, routing several families from their nearby homes. The blaze started in the two story brick warehouse and spread to a privately owned athletic hall used during wartime as a training quarters for the Office of Strategic Services (OSS). Two Marines who had been sleeping in the ware house escaped unharmed. A dam age suit asking 911,302,590 against the Ford Motor Co., Dearborn Mo tors, Inc., the Ohio Tractor & Im plement Co., and oinciais 01 tne three llrms was filed Tuesday In federal court here. The action, brought by Elmer K Schatz, his wife and two corpora tions which they control the Truck-Tractor Equipment Co. and Truck-Tractor Equipment, Inc. charges the Ford group with Ille gal conspiracy to deprive the Schatz companies of tneir ousiness of distributing and selling Ferg uson farm tractors and Implements In the state of Ohio. The suit asserts that Harry Ferguson invented a new type of farm tractor which the elder Henry Ford agreed In 1938 to manufac ture and which the Ferguson or ganization marketed together with a line of farm implements devel oped by Ferguson. Severance of this agreement last July 1 resulted in another suit, filed in New York earlier this month, by Ferguson against the Ford Company and of ficials for $251,000,000 damages. The Schatz complaint alleges that the desire of Henry Ford II to pro vide large compensation 'for his company's executives caused them to engage in various acts to force the Columbus, O., dealer out of business. The $11,302,590 claim for dam. aces is based upon alleged de struction of the truck-tractor equipment business and asks triple damages for breach of the anti trust laws. The young Norwegian sdentBt, Qunnar Randers, has been placed in charge of the Institute. He will organize the work of the institute In cooperation with Nor ways's technical scientific research council and will start the work with the building of a uranium kiln. One Million Dollars Work of the Institute is made possible by an appropriation of $1,000,000 bT the Norweirinn nur- llament. The kiln, a heavy water project, will have no importance as a plant for production of plutonlum or for atomic energy production as such but will serve scientific alms. In a report submitted to the school's board of trustees Tuesday night, a seven-man Investigating committee of the faculty of the state's only state college said t had found nothing "subversive or un-American" In the text books it probed.
