School closes Tuesday evening. Jorgen Jorgensen sailed from Copenhagen, Dec. 7 for San Fran cisco via Vest Indies and Panama, after spending seven months vis iting friends and relatives in Den mark. He expects to arrive in San Francisco Jan. 4 or 5, and Mrs. Jorgensen will meet him there. ! Lois Calkins, Home Economics teacher in Redmond, Ore., will; visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs.! C. J. Calkins, during her Christ- i mas vacation. ' Mrs. Ethel Roebauch, chairman;; Mrs. Anderson, vice chairman and Mrs. Bruce, secretary-treasurer, were elected for the Help ing Hand Club recently. No meet ing will be held for the first; Thursday in January, but a "get; acquainted potluck dinner" for the community is being planned for Jan. 7 in the church. Total net re turns for the two day sale at the Public Market the last of Novem ber was $81.3S. The club is giving all of this toward the church re modeling program. Betty Lou is the fifth daughter in the McNeill family. The Big Fall Creek road was closed Saturday, while a much needed repair Job was done at the sharp curve on the Ellis Edward place. Big Fall Creek and Win- berry roads have rad more gravel applied than they have had for years, but f ey certainly could stana a lot more. No widening has been done or " e Winberry road as yet. Mrs. Cora Vaughn will have her new home ready to oc cupy. She sold her farm recently, and will give possession to the new owners the fiijst of the year.
