Leslie Biley will give the sermon. Members of the family and their friends will meet at the Franklin Grange Hall for a basket dinner and reunion. All friends of the family are in vited to the dinner or to attend the afternoon session to meet the Rev. and Mrs. Bailey. Miller Elected For Conductor I Byron Miller wi elected con ductor of the Junior Symphony Orchestra at a meeting of Eugene Symphony Assn.. in the home of Mrs. C. A. Horton this week. Mil ler is supervisor of instrumental music at Eugene High School. Registration for the Junior Sym phony will be held Sept. 15, 3 to S p.m., in the Eugene High School band room. Mrs. Jack Bryan and Mrs. Phyllis Knox will be in charge of registration. The orchestra will be open to all high school and junior high stu dents under 21 years old who live in Eugene or surrounding terri tory. MORE GEESE THIS YEAR PORTLAND, Me. U.R The annual census by the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Sen-ice showed 12, 1 549 geese flew north to Canada i this year, an increase of 1755 over 'last year. Arab Underground Movement Formed : JERUSALEM 0J.R) A shop In Jerusalem was wrecked Thursday by an explosion which police de scribed s the first blow by a new Arab underground move ment called "Hurrieh," Arabic for freedom. The blasted hop was ruined. The rest of the building was not damaged, and there were no cas ualties. The bombing, as described by police, was the first time Arabs had resorted to that form of vio lence since their revolt of 1936-39. The shop was operated by an Arab said to have dealt in Jewish produced building materials and paints. The Hurrieh underground i movement was reported concerned exclusively with the Arab boycott of Jewish-produced goods. Another explosion was reported in the area of the Socony-Vacuum 'Oil Company's works in Haifa. Of ficials reported the damage slight, and no casualties. ! A military truck was blown up by a mine on the outskirts of Na thanya. One soldier was injured I seriously. Date for Turkey Price Support Set Sept. 1 The U. S. Department of Agri culture's turkey price support program will go into operation Sept. 1 rather than Oct, 1. ac cording to reports received Wed nesday by the Oregon State Col lege Extension Service. The change was made because of present high feed costs which may cause producers to market their turkeys earlier than usual. Purchases will be limited to turkeys purchased and dressed after Aug. 30.
