M, bomb project had only "souvenir" value. Marion Jay Chase Marion Jay Chase, 63, Rt 2, Springfield, died at his home Tuesday. He was born Dec. 8, 1883 at Dodge County, Minn., and married Ethel Pooler at Kasson, Minn. Sept 26, 1907. He lived in Springfield the past 34 years. Surviving are his widow, Ethel; three ions, Cecil M., John Roy, and Robert W., all of Springfield; five daughters, Mabel King, Springfield, Leatha J. Thurman, Veneta, Florence Inness and Gladys Field, Eugene, Margaret Yokley, Ashland; eight grand children; his father, John Jay Chase, Springfield; three brothers, R. R. Chase, Springfield, V. C. and John Roy, Eugene; and sister, Clara Gage, Coburg. Services will be at Bartholo-mew-Buell Mortuary Friday at 2 p. in, with the Rev. Ren Hollister officiating. Pierson Funeral services for Roy M. Pierson, 52, Gardiner, who died Sunday when his boat overturned in the ocean, were held Tuesday at Coos Bay, with Dean J. Thomas Lewis officiating. Interment was in Sunset Cemetery. Mr. Pierson was born Jan. 6, 1895, and is survived by his wi dow, Margaret of Longview, Wash.; his father, Otis Pierson, Salem; a brother, Vem, Coo Bay; and two sisters, Mrs. John Heg bloom, Coos Bay, and Mrs. Walter Wallace, North Bend.
