Bob Scott Joins U. S. Marine Corps Bob Scott, night editor of the Register-Guard for the past six months, has been inducted into the marine corps, Sergeant L. L. Pittenger of the marine recruit ing office, said Tuesday. Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Lee Scott of Salem. He was a journalism student at the University of Oregon. The dinner Captain Siegenthaler said, is be ing given the workers to honor them for the splendid work they have accomplished in Lane county defense. Captain Siegenthaler and Cap tain Joseph A. Richards will pre side during the dinner. They will explain the new defense set-up and will instruct the workers on plans for the future. Medals will be presented to those who who have earned them during the per iod between October 4 and October 18. More than 34S civilian workers are expected to attend and 27 of ficers and enlisted men, Captain Siegenthaler said. . Two New 4-H Clubs Formed in County . Two additional new 4-H club organizations have reported to the office of E. A. Danlelson, county club leader. One is the Happy Hour Sewing club of Triangle school, district 90, and the other is a health club at the Franklin school, district 10. Mrs. C. Benninger is leader. of the sewing club and L. D. Horner is the teacher. Arvilla Byrnes is president; Delores Douglas, vice president, and' Delores Wilcut, secretary. Fourteen members have enrolled. Mrs. Jeannette R.
