He was born in Utica, Iumois, May 11 1811. He came to Eugene with his family In 1911. At the time of his death he was president of the Midgley Planing Mill Co. He was a member of the First Baptist church of Eugene. He took an active part In the church work, having served as trustee for 80 years, and had served on . the building committee of the - church at the time of its con struction. He was also a mem ber of the Modern Woodmen id the Royal Neighbors. He is survived by his wife, and five children: Walter D., Everett L. 'and Mrs. Curtis Marshall, all of Eugene; Mrs. Arthur Greisser of Norfolk; Va.; and William S. In the U. S. navy; 11 grandcnii dren; and two brothers and one sister In Illinois.
