It will be an all day meeting with a pot luck dinner at twelve-thirty honoring all members of the two organizations who have had birthdays in April, May or June. Members of the Aid to be honored will be Mrs. C. M. Landaker, Mrs. Edna Garrett, Mrs. C. M. Boesen, Mrs. Dell Harshman, Mrs. W. C. Ran dolph, Mrs. Myrtle Worden, and Mrs. Joe Hart. Methodist Women To Meet The Women's Society for Christian Service of the Metho dist church will hold its regu lar monthly meeting Tuesday. The day will start with the ex ecutive meeting at ten-thirty. Business people s lunch will be served at twelve. At twelve thirty the ladies will have a luncheon and social hour in the church. Circle number four is arranging the program at thia time with Mrs. E. E. Hunt, chairman. At one-thirty the afternoon session will begin. Mrs, F. C. Carlson will lead the devotions and Mrs. D. O. Shuey will be the program leader on the sub ject "China College." With School Election Set High school election will be held Monday, June 22. at the Mohawk Union high school building. A 4-day camping trip at Mossy Maples park, on the banks of the Willamette river, was enjoyed by the older Girl Scouts this past week. Mrs. Hiram Skordahl was host ess last week to a few close friends of Mrs. Sid Aldous who with friendship not incumbents, were honored by the chapter and presented with gifts. Birthday anniversaries of April, May and June were ob served at serving time and each guest was presented with a gift. Mrs. Sly, Mrs. Holliston and C. F. Moore served. Mr. White, Inspector for the West Coast Lumberman's associ ation, suffered a painful head in jury in a fall from the docks ot the Pacific Mill company Friday forenoon. An ambulance was called and he was taken to the Eugene hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Dan LaMaln had the electric service turned on at their home southwest of town this week. Fsrmers in that community are gradually being served by the Mountain States Power company. The group has recently adopted th practice of giving war stamps for prizes. Penny Social Success The Mothers' club cleared $B 8S on their penny social at the hall recently. Beverly Ann Peterson offered a piano selection for the group's pleasure, Teresa Kuyken dall gave a reading, Mrs. Delhert Metzker sang a solo, and Boy Scouts led the flag salute. The program closed with the group singing "God Bless America." Mr. and Mrs. David Swedllng of Lot Angeles, former Wendling residents, visited the Henry Lawrensens and Hallle Petersen! the past few days. Ernest Brandt of Walla Walla was a guest of his brother, Otto Brandt, last week. A group of friends surprised Mrs. Walter Petersdorff on her bithday. White Elephant Club Postponed - DEERHORN There will be no meeting of the White Elephant club this week. The next meeting will be held on July 8. Richard Hart is building tome sdditional roomt on his farm house and remodeling the rest of the building. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ed wards operate the farm. John and Albert Hart have pur chased a new power baler with which ther will do their own and custom baling. The baler it not sta tionary but moves along the wind rows after the hay is cured and the bales are gathered up to be hauled in. . Mrs. Alice Odell hat received word from her son, Wilbur, who it itationed at the Panama canal with the U. S. navy, that he has recovered from severe liege of tropical fever. Mr. and MM.
