Poppy Sale Set For May 22, 23 SPRINGFIELD, May 21 (Spe cial) Ladies of the auxiliary to Springfield American Legion post 40 plan their annual poppy sale for May 22 and 23. The funds of this annual sale go to disabled world war veterans. Advertising the poppy sale in the downtown district are two prominent window displays at Eggimann's confectionery and Murphy's grocery. The first is an exhibit of war materials showing the types of weapon used in every age since the cave man. It was contributed by Carl and Earl Thenies of Deerhom. The other display shows the two service flags for Springfield high school, the one for 1917 with 45 blue stars, one for each former student in the armed forces, and the one for the present war with 119 stars. This flag, containing three gold stars for boys lost at Pearl Harbor, has already been filled and a new one is being made by the junior class of the high school to provide space for S. U. H.I S. students who will continue to enter the service. TO MEET MOTHERS SPRINGFIELD. May 21.
