Bishop photo, Wiltshire engraving Igoe-Rhonalt Wedding Friday The marriage of Miss Ethel Rhonalt, daughter of Mrs. Clif ford Geear, formerly of Eu gene and now of Pato, Colom- ' bia, South America, to C. R. "Pete" Igoe, son of Mrs. Charles M. Igoe of Eugene, was solem nized Friday afternoon at a simple service held in the par ish house of St, Mary's Cath olic church at two o!clock, Rev. Francis P. Leipzig officiating. Mrs. Ford Danner, sister of the bride, and Burke Austin at- , tended the couple. Only the immediate families and a few -close friends attended. - The bride wore a teal blue . suit with blue fox fur trim, matching hat, and an orchid. . Mrs. Danner wore a rose cor duroy suit with navy blue hat and accessories, and corsage of rosebuds and gardenias. Following the service, a re ception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ford Danner. Mr. and Mrs. Igoe are to make their home in Portlandi Both are former students of the University of Oregon, the bride being a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority, Mr. Igoe a mem ber of Phi Delta Theta frater nity. SPINSTERS club will be en tertained Wednesday evening at the home of Miss Patricia Parker at seven-thirty o'clock. BETA' SIGMA PHI members are meeting Monday evening, Mrs. Robert M. Betts and Mrs. Melvin Long to be hostesses at the home of the former at seven forty-five o'clock, DATE FOR the wedding of Miss Madelyn Holscher, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Holscher of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and John O Harris, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy L. Betrothal Told at Luncheon An engagement announce ment of interest to many Eu gene friends was told Thursday at a luncheon when Miss Yvonne Stevens, daughter of Mrs. Jennie-E. Stevens, told of her betrothal to Stanley Carl son of Portland, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Carlson of that city. The wedding is to be in No vember. The announcement party was given in the Osburn hotel tea- room. Guests were seated at a large round table which was centered with a bouquet of pastel colored asters, snap dragons, and delphiniums. Be tween each place were crystal holders with pink and blue candles. The news was written in invisible ink on the place cards which were held to the candle flame to bring out the , writing. ' A PARTY for the members of the wedding party of Miss Juanita Wilson and James Rus sell, who were married Satur day evening, was held Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Perkins after the wedding rehearsal. Those present were Miss Wil son, Mr. Russell, Miss Muriel Tyson, Joe Keever, Miss Katie Emery, Basil Ryals, and the hosts. . THE ENGAGEMENT of Miss Pearl Macklin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Macklin of Trent, to Corporal Deryl (Bill) E. Butters, son of Mr, and Mrs. A. F. Butters of Oelwein, Iowa, has been announced. The wedding will be in the near fu ture. Russell, was solemnized Satur day evening at a service held in the annex of the First -Christian church, Dr. S. Earl. Childers reading the rites at eight o'clock. More than Sixty relatives and friends were pres ent for .the wedding. . The ceremony took place in front' of the large windows. Flower baskets of chrysanthe mums and other flowers in the fall shades of yellow and orange, with touches of blue . of delphiniums, and many candles were used in decorat ing. Bouquets also decorated the mantles. ' The bride wore a dark amber velveteen dress with brown ac cessories and hat, and a corsage of white orchids. ' Mrs. John Perkins was ma tron of honor. She wore a light green dress with brown ac cessories and corsage. Basil Ryals of McMinnville was best man. . For the music, Joe Keever sang "Because" and "Always", and Miss Muriel Tyson played the piano.- Gene and Kenneth Wilson, brothers of the bride, lighted candles. A reception followed the serv ice. A large mortar centered the table containing capsules tied to ribbons lead ing to each place., The an nouncement written on a pres cription blank, was inside each capsule. A rosebud was ar ranged at each place. No date is set for the wed ding. Chapters Meeting The three local chapters et ' the P.E.O. Sisterhood hold meetings this week, two of the groups for the opening events of, the new year. ' On Wednesday at one o'clock, Chapter AY is to meet at the home of Mrs., L. J. Temple, this being the first meeting of the fall for the chapter, i Members of Chapter AM also meet Wednesday for the year's first gathering, luncheon at one o'clock at the home of Mrs. H. L. They also stopped in San Francisco for several days. CLASSES A, B, AND C will participate in a threesome with full handicap as a feature of the weekly golf day for women at the Country club, Wednes day. LEAGUE'S Red Cross sewing group has begun its year's 'work, planning the second meeting this coming Monday at the home of Mrs. Charles D. Thompson at two o'clock. The group meets each week with Mrs. Thompson. All members and inactive members interested in working with the group are invited to attend.
