Aug. 21 (Spe cial) Stop signs were placed on Fifth and G. streets here yester day, making the corner a four- way- stop, according to Edward Privat, city councilman. Plans are also to put signs at the junction of Mill and D streets today, he said. Street name signs will be put up in the near future, he added. Aug. 21 (Spe. cial) From the San Diego naval training station. Mrs. Myrtle Eggi man has received word from Theodore J. Vail and Ralph Warner. In a letter today she learned that Ralph is now in the Marine band. Both boys were graduates of Springfield high school in the class of 1940, and Vail is now in North Island in the Base Air Detachment, 2nd division, naval air station. ENDICOTTS GO HOME SPRINGFIELD. Those who received the initia tion from the I. O. O. F. group No. 7 were Clyde Hollemon, C. R. Clayghorn, Jr., Erbine Grousbeck, Frank Doyle of Creswell, and G. H. Booth of Marcola.
