Scheduled for a two-night per formance. Mother (Florence Shumakerl. a pah. genital fussbudget. Father Mal colm (Adrian Martin), possesses an absentmindedness which verges on the sublime. Daughter Frankie (Trudy Har iand) suffers from vestal restless ness. Brother Dudley (Jim Par sons) spouts Noel Coward and badgers stuffy Brother Claude (Marvin Krenk), who builds houses and does setting-up exer cises. Clouds gather over the breakfast tahlp whpn rrinrf maid (Mary Staton Krenk) is iouna crying near the sausages and Frankie reports she saw Claude acting suspiciously. Two acts and a fortnight later, just in time for the arrival of the much discussed and dreaded guests ("George" and "Margaret") the domestic weather settles fair, with Beer the new maid (Clara Fitch) to assist in a rousing climax. "George and Margaret" is under the direction of Mrs. Seybolt. The ticket office for reservations will be open from 1 to 5 o'clock each afternoon in 106 Johnson hall. The telephone is 3300, extension 217. Plant Construction Greatly Increased By Telephone Company N. R. Powley, president of the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph company, issued a statement to day in connection with the release of the dividend checks to share holders in which he commented on the indicated adverse effect on the company's earnings due to its huge plant construction program in excess of 50 per cent over last year now totaling more than $70,000,000, heavy increased wage payments recently effective and the forthcoming substantiaf tax increases. In further commenting on the statement to the shareholders, Mr. Powley stated: "Throughout the entire Pacific coast we are making huge plant additions to meet the extraordi nary service requirements In volved in the defense prepared ness and the accelerated tempo of business activity. Our working forces have been considerably in creased in number and we now have In excess of 35,000 employes or over 5000 more than a year ago. We have the highest payroll In the history of the company. "Prior to the first of the year we estimated that our 1941 con struction program would approxi mate $60,000,000 of which an ag gregate of $48,000,000 would be exclusively for new construction. We now estimate that this pro gram, which is still in a state of flux, will be in excess of $70, 000,000 and it will undoubtedly be enlarged due to the continued unusual and unforeseen extra ordinary service demands."
