In a typical month, September, 1940, more than 60 per cent of the 27a millions in goods exported went to the United Kingdom and Canada, while U. S. exports to axis partners fell off. Donald E. Ground School Course To Start January 6 A complete ground school course for those who have hitherto been unable to take advantage of the CAA flying courses will open on the University of Oregon campus starting Monday, January 6. un der the sponsorship of the general extension division, it is announced by Assistant Director W. G. Beattie. Provided a suitable number of students sign up in advance, the course will be offered each Mon day night for 10 weeks. In case a large number sign up, it is likely that a Thursday evening session may also be established. Registra tion should be made at the general extension office on the campus, at tile municipal airport with Joe Harrell, CAA flight instructor, or with Homer Middlesworth, secre tary of the McKenzle Flying as sociation, which is cooperating cooperating with the extension in sponsoring the classes. The ground course will Include lar navigation and pilotage, charts and maps, the compass, navigation problems, various phases of me teorology, und other related prom lems. Although no university credit will be allowed, students will be prepared to take the CAA examinations. Complete informa tion may be obtained by calling' the extension division at 3300, ex tension 325.
