(Spe clal) Mrs. Tom Bilderback re cently entertained relatives and friends at a dinner party honor ing her husband on his birthday and also for the recent marriage of her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Fairbanks. Other out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Les Williams and son, Allen Lee, of Cottage Grove. H. t. CLUB MEETS CHESWELL, Dec. 21 (Special) Mrs. J. R. Miller entertained the Home Economics club at its Christ mas party Tuesday afternoon. Pollyanna gifts were distributed from a decorated tree and plans were made to continue the project for another year. Mrs. F. P. Clack presided at the business meeting in the absence of the president, Mrs. Blanche Gwyther. Plans were discussed for the completion of the rest room and all members were requested to bring coat hang ers for the new rack. Mrs. David Francis gave a report from the re. cent state conference. Funeral services will be held at the Miller funeral home in Junction City on Wednesday at 1 p. m. Mrs. Lewis Holler, Theta Rho girls' adviser; Mrs. Edward Byrne, Stella Sankey, Patricia Davenport, Evelyn Byrne, Corinne Key, Max ine Smith, Mary Kathryn Hull, Mary Lou Nystrom and Eileen Moore attended the Theta Rho convention held at Albany last week. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Garrett, who have resided in the Bellfountain community for the past two years or more, living in their trailer house, recently purchased the Cleve Powers home north of Mon roe, near the high school build ing and have moved to their new home. The student body and faculty was invited. The grade school basketball team played the Farm Home team here last week. UNDERTAKERS ELECT REEDSPORT, Dec. 21 (Spe cial) Mr. and Mrs. John Unger were hosts to members of the Southwestern Oregon Funeral Di rectors association in the Reeds port grill last week, 14 members attending. Election of officers was the principal matter of business, the following being elected for 1040: Charles Schroeder, of Ban don, president; Edward Thuer wachter, Marshfield, vice-president; John Unger, Reedsport, secretary-treasurer. The next meet ing will be held in Marshfield on the second Friday of February. DINNER SUNDAY DEERHORN. Dec. 21. (Spe cial) A basket dinner for mem bers of the Deerhorn Sunday school was a feature of the Christ mas season Sunday at the Deer horn schoolhouse. A number of families attended. In the after noon the group spent some of the time preparing for the annual Christmas program which will be sponsored by the school. Special costumes and special lighting will be made attractive; the Nativity and other Christmas scenes. A fund has been donated by members of the school who will receive treats at the program.
