Youngs have returned from a two weeks' trip to Berkeley, Cal and San Francisco, where they visited relatives and attended the Golden Gate exposition. Women's City Club Members Hold Tea About thirty women attended the tea given by the Women's ity club at the home .of Mrs. Ralph L.'. Crow Wednesday after noon. The committee in charge was Mrs. J. A. Hoffman, Mrs. Allen Osborne and Mrs. R. P. Sutton. Officers for the year were Introduced. Miss Elinor McMickle of Portland played sev. eral flute numbers. The outdoor group will hold an evening meeting August 8 at the home of Mrs. George P. Winchell to study the stars. Committees Named At C. D. A. Meeting Two committees were appointed at the meeting of Catholic Daugh ters . of America Wednesday eve ning. Those named were Miss Gretta WUhelm, Miss Alvine Am ort, Mrs. W. W. Bristow, Sr., and Mrs. Sam Watson, sick committee; and Mrs. Mary Hennessey. Mrs, Joseph Shipman and Mrs. Clarence Iddings, visiting committee. LODGE, AUXILIARY HOLD JOINT MEETING The Ladies' Auxiliary to the Fraternal Order of Eagles held a joint meeting with the men of the lodge Wednesday evening to hear reports of the recent conven tion in Roseburg. Miller, retiring adviser, was also presented with a pin. BIRTHDAY PARTY PLANNED BY GUILD Twenty-one members of St. Mary's Episcopal Guild attended the all-day meeting Wednesday. Mrs. Earl. Jackson and Mrs. Ed Laksonen were in charge of the luncheon. At the July 19 meeting, a birthday luncheon will be held for those who have birthdays? in July. The committee in charge is Mrs. Allen Osborne, Mrs. G. M. DeBroekert and Mrs. Harold Veb-len. Today's Recipes (By NEA Service) ' jGGs can break the monotony of summer luncneon menus. And they don't always have to be hard boiled about it. Eggs Baked With Spanish Sauce (6 servings) Six fresh eggs, 1 green pepper, chopped, 1 small onion chopped, 1 tablespoon choped chives, 1 can condensed tomato soup, 1! tea spoons butter, salt, pepper, dash of cayenne. , Heat butter in frying pan. Add onions, green pepper and chives. Fry only until delicately brown. Add tomato soup and stir. Cook for 12 minutes over slow fire, stir ring occasionally. Turn into baking dish. Carefully break eggs over top of Spanish sauce. Sprinkle with salt, pepper and cayenne. Bake in hot oven (450 deg. F.) for about 10 minutes until eggs are set. Served with French or Italian bread, this makes a very fine lun cheon. Deviled Eggs Baked (6 servings) Six hard-boiled eggs, 2 table spoons cream and the following to taste: Salt, pepper, paprika, Wor cestershire sauce, minced parsley and dry mustard. Slice hard-cooked eggs In half, lengthwise. Remove yolks, mash and mix with cream. Work in all the other Ingredients. Stuff whites with this deviled mixture. Place stuffed eggs in buttered shallow baking dish. Cover with light white sauce. Bake in modern oven (350 reg. F.) for about 15 minutes, ARTISTS LIKE LOWLY WHARF ROCKPORT, Mass.
