To Attend Picnic
Daughters of Union Veterans
will hold a picnic Wednesday,
August 9, in Skinner Butte park,
it was decided at the meeting Wed
nesday evening. Members of the
group and their families. Women's
Relief Corps members and their
families, and Sons of Union Vet
erans and the auxiliary are In
vited. The committee in charge
is Mrs. Ora A. England, Mrs. Sadie
Hiestand, Mrs. C. P. Richardson,
Mrs. William Conn, Mrs. Rodney
Roach and Mrs. Ruth Addleman.
Those attending are to bring their
own dishes, silver and lunch, and
coffee, cream and sugar will be
furnished. The next business
meeting will be August 23. At the

dependence and Mrs. Roach read

meeting Wednesday, evening. The

a birthday luncheon will be held

summer luncneon menus. And
they don't always have to be hard
boiled about it.
Eggs Baked With Spanish Sauce
(6 servings)
Six fresh eggs, 1 green pepper,
chopped, 1 small onion chopped,
1 tablespoon choped chives, 1 can
condensed tomato soup, 1! tea
spoons butter, salt, pepper, dash of
cayenne. ,
Heat butter in frying pan. Add
onions, green pepper and chives.
Fry only until delicately brown.
Add tomato soup and stir. Cook
for 12 minutes over slow fire, stir
ring occasionally. Turn into baking
dish.
Carefully break eggs over top
of Spanish sauce. Sprinkle with
salt, pepper and cayenne. Bake in
hot oven (450 deg. F.) for about
10 minutes until eggs are set.
Served with French or Italian
bread, this makes a very fine lun
cheon. Deviled Eggs Baked
(6 servings)
Six hard-boiled eggs, 2 table
spoons cream and the following to
taste: Salt, pepper, paprika, Wor
cestershire sauce, minced parsley
and dry mustard.
Slice hard-cooked eggs In half,
lengthwise. Remove yolks, mash
and mix with cream. Work in all
the other Ingredients. Stuff whites
with this deviled mixture. Place
stuffed eggs in buttered shallow
baking dish. Cover with light
white sauce. Bake in modern oven
(350 reg. F.) for about 15 minutes,
