(Special) The West Point Grange met Wednesday evening with the lec turer's hour open to the public. Mrs. Rose Barrows, lecturer, had group singing. O. K. Baldwin en tertained with his magic stunts, and several readings, and orches tra music were given by the grange members. The worthy master opened the business meet ing with the seating drill with all officers present but Mr. and Mrs. T. Q. Green. There were the sec retary's report, committee reports, and several letters read. The mas ter, David Calvert, and wife will be unable to attend the State Grange in-Klamath Falls June 13 to 17 so Mr. and Mrs. Cljde Bar rows were elected alternates. The master handed out the premium list for the Lane county fair this year to members interested, vis itors lor tne evening were lur. and Mrs. Baldwin from Santa Clara and Mrs. Marie Briggs for merly of Cobure and more recent ly of Portland. Corsages were presented to everyone at tending by Mrs. Walter Blakely. chairman of the committe in charge of the arrangements. Other mem bers of the committee were Mrs. Grant J. Gray and Mrs. Noland. (Special) The Dorena grange will present a three-act comedy, "Black Cats," at the Lorane grange hall, Monday, May 16 at 8 p. m. An admission will be charged. There MOTHERS ARE HONORED OAKRIDGE, May 12. (Spe cial) The Cascade unit of ,the American Legion Auxiliary hon ored the mothers of the commu nity with a tea in the Legion hall recently. A program was presented under tne direction of Mrs. L. Noland. Most of the program was put on by members of the Girl Scout troop of Westfir under the direction of Miss Helen Noland, scout leader, and Mrs. Frank Klaisnor, captain. (Special) Second nomination of officers was the principal business transacted at the meeting of Loyal Rebekah lodge at Elmira Tuesday evening. Eudora Stephens was nominated for noble grand, Iola Stephens for vice grand, Bertha Stephens for recording secretary and Hilma Colgaard for treasurer. Charlotte Lamb, who has lived at Willows for several years, was among the members present. Katie Liles, Eudora Stephens and W. R. Fisher were appointed as a refreshment committee for next time and an nounced that sandwiches, cake and jello would be served. After lodge the degree staff practiced in preparation for initiation at the next meeting.
