April 13. (Special) The drama "Death Takes the Steering Wheel," produced this week at the local high school gym nasium, was quite well attended. (Special) The primary and beginners depart ments of the local Methodist Epis copal church met at the church Tuesday afternoon for a work period on Easter work. They arc saving their pennies to buy an Easter lily. On Saturday afternoon they will have a party and Easter egg hunt, sponsored by their teach ers. Several services of special nature are being held at the Methodist Episcopal church this week. Thurs day night will be held the candle light communion service with spe cial music. Easter Sunday the young folks of the church will hold sunrise service and breakfast at the church. Baptismal services for babies and adults will be held dur ing the Easter morning service. Several members will be received into the church. Sunday evening the choir of the church will present its Easter cantata. OAK RIDGE ITEMS OAKRIDGE, April 13. (Spe cial) Tile Qakridgc Community club will meet in the grade schorl Friday afternoon for a regular business session. Latest report regarding the con dition of Mrs. G. L. Burian is that she is slightly Improved but will be in the hospital at least another week. Rev. and Mrs. Dan Anderson and family have moved to Eugene to make their home. Due to the ill ness of Mrs. Anderson, Rev. An derson resigned his pastorate at the Hiblc Standard church. AU churches in the city arc pre paring an Easter service and spe cial programs arc being arranged for the Sunday school hour. Classes in both schools will be discontinued Wednesday afternoon until April 18. TO HONOR DAVISES WESTFIR, April 13. (Special) A potluck supper compliment ing Mr. and Mrs. Frank Davis, who are leaving soon for their new location in Washington, where Mr. Davis is being transferred by the forestry service, will be held at the legion hall in Oakridge on Thursday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Davis are respective members of Cascade post and auxiliary. CARD CLUB MEETS WESTFIR, April 13. (Special) Mrs. Frank Kleisner entertained for the Five Hundred club at her home, Tuesday. High score was won by Mrs. Dwight Rutan. Those present were Mrs. Lloyd Tox, Mrs. Martin Elam, Mrs. L. K. Posvar. Mrs. Crete Robinson, Mrs. W. F. Rehwalt, Mrs. Rutan and Mrs. Kleisner. The local Rebekah lodge has ac cepted an invitation from the Brownsville Rebekah lodge to put on the degree work for them on Wednesday, April 20, at the time of the official visit of Mrs. May Jonas, state president from Prine ville. They will confer the degree on six candidates for themselves this coming Wednesday night, April 13 and also on one candidate from Harrisburg. This will be the first time they have conferred the de gree in many years. MEETING POSTPONED ' TRENT, April 13.
