Mrs. Richard Bauer is chairman for the event. MEETING FRIDAY The Women's Guild of St. Mary's Episcopal church is to have its meeting on Friday of this week instead of on Wednesday. This will be the usual all-day gather ing with a potluck luncheon at noon. The Women's Auxiliary of the church will meet at two o'clock In the afternoon with the Guild at the parish house. Banks, and Mrs. J. F. Reade being host esses with Mrs. Burnett for the meeting. Mrs. A. F. Barnett was chosen president; Mrs. R. T. Burnett, sec retary; and Mrs. L. C. Scharpf, treasurer. Mrs. James A. Rodman and Mrs. Walter H. Banks were named the telephone committee. The group voted to meet once each school term. Mrs. Robert D. Horn, Mrs. Frank Carll, and Mrs. Howard R. Tay lor from the Phi Beta associates group met with the patronesses. Mrs. Horn explained the Phi Beta scholarship plan and the patron esses voted to assist in support of the scholarships. Matrons Guild to Meet Friday Mrs. Horace Burnett will be hostess to members of the Matron's Guild of the Presbyterian church Friday afternoon at two-thirty o clock. Christmas Party A Christmas parw is planned for December 13 by members of the Loyal Friends class at a pot luck supper and business meeting this week. Union Plans Meeting Tuesday An all day meeting of the Women's Union of the Methodist Episcopal church will be held Tuesday at the church. Sessions will begin at eleven o'clock with a foreign missionary society pro gram. Mrs. A. H. Norton will preside over the meeting. There will be song services and devotions which will be led by Mrs. W. B. Hilton. A mite box presentation . will be In charge of Mrs. D. O. Shuey. Miss Ruth Baker will conduct a questionnaire. At twelve o'clock a business luncheon will be served for those who are working. Anyone Inter ested is Invited. Mrs. F. M. Spicer is In charge. The regular women's union luncheon will be served at twelve-thirty o'clock. Those hav ing birthdays in November will be seated at a special birthday table. The regular Union meeting will be at one-thirty o'clock with Mrs. Louis E. Bean presiding. The devotions will be led by Mrs. J. B. Thompson. Mrs. F. T. Findt ner will give a talk on the Bible. Illustrating this will be an exhibit of old Bibles. Reports will be given. Plans for a winter festival and bazaar to be held December 10 at the church will be completed. The affair will be for both after noon and evening. Election Due for W. R. C. Meeting An election of officers will be the principal business at the next meeting of the Women's Relief Corps Thursday, December 2 at the armory, it was decided at a meeting of the group Thursday afternoon. With thirty present, it was re ported that thirty-two calls had been mode upon, the sick and needy during the past month Plans were, completed for the dis tribution of Thanksgiving baskets to G.A.R. widows, which is an an nual custom of the WRC. Two Hostesses Shower Party at To Initiate Four new members, Elaine Newman, Delores Tobler, Jean Parker and Carlos Handy, will be initiated into Degree of Honor at the meeting of the lodge Friday, November 26. at eight o'clock, at Moose hall. They will receive pins signifying that they have gradu ated from the juvenile division in to the adult group. The committee in charge is Mrs.OUie Wilson, Mrs. Golda Reed and Mrs. Lucille Jensen. Mrs. Harry Schrenk and Mrs. Elgin Bailor entertained at the River Road Women's clubhouse on Thursday evening, honoring Miss Myrtle Evans of Cottage Grove with a bridal shower. An im promptu program was a feature of the evening, and the one perform ing the best was given a prize. The judges awarded Miss Evans the prize, which consisted ot a basket filled with gifts. Mhiteaker's P.-T. A, Groups Active Mrs. Willard Buell, president of the Whlteaker school P.-T. A. is sponsoring a series of teas. The first grade mothers and teacher, Miss Mahny, were honor guests for the first tea at the home of Mrs. Buell this week. y The next tea will be in honor of the secpnd grade and teacher, Mrs. Cummings, to be held at Mrs! Buell's home, 1108 Second Avenue west, Tuesday, Nov. 23. Hours are from two until four o'clock. The grade with the largest attendance of mothers will win the prize. The Whlteaker bridge party was given by Mrs. A. F. Richards for a one-thirty dessert luncheon at the home of her mother at the Petersen apartments this week. Six tables of bridge were played, hon ors going to Mrs. Sager, Mrs. Pet ersen and Mrs. Jensen. The next bridge party will be an evening affair. Further details will be an nounced later. The arts and crafts meeting was held Thursday at the home of Mrs. Harry Hamilton. The afternoon was spent weaving baskets.
