And you still have at least After -Christmas Wayi to Remove TreeDecorations By Deborah Ames T S hard to realize, isn't it. that Christmas is all over for mother year. It seems Must two weeks ago that we were getting ready for Thanksgiving, and here It is almost News Years already. If your house is anything like mine, it is upset and out of order now and you haven't the energy to do anything about it I know! The trick toward cleaning the house lies in getting rid of the Christmas decorations. You know u well as I that there is nothing deader than the decoration for a holiday that is past. Tinsel seems to lose all its glitter, ornaments fall from the tree and splatter in a thousand hard-to-Dick un pieces, the wreaths start to dry up and fall on the rues, and the house seems filled with the artifi cial snow from the tree. Why not e a party to undress the tree? just as you had one to trim it? can be made just as much fun the first one was, with cider and doughnuts, coffee and cookies or punch and sandwiches for the youngsters who do the work. Gradually increase your count each day. L f i Party Is Ideal , One very gay "untrimming" party that I remember took place when I was living on an army post here in California. There were about eight of us all young married officers and their wives who decided that when Christmas was over, it was really going to be over. No more of this sweep ing up ornaments, and dusting up snow. So, the day after the twenty-fifth, we met to make plans. We decided on a progressive din ner, with a course and a tree to be finished at each house. We started about five-thirty, with cocktails and the first tree. Six found us having soup and another tree and so on through the Post, until we ended at the last house, tired, full anl very gay. Inly one ornament was broken during the entire evening eight housewives ' had a messy job done for them quickly and easily and a pleas ant evening was enjoyed by eight congenial, happy couples. It was expensive for on one, and every one had a good time. I recom mend it for an easy, effortless and inexpensive way of straight ening the house after a holiday crowd. cot puree 1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup unstrained orange juice I teaspoon cinnamon 1 teaspoon allspice 1 teaspoon nutmeg 1 teaspoon brandy flavoring A tablespoons granulated gela tin 6 tablespoons cold water pints whipping cream I cup walnut kernels Rinse raisins in hot water, drain, dry on a towel, and slice. The galy flowered kerchiefs worn in Dalmatia and the Tyrol are also used in this way, though fashion authorities do not advise this simple under-the-chln way of wearing them unless the face is young and smooth. Most women find the kerchief knotted in front above the brow much more flat tering, and it is quite as smart, of course. the Week Andrews ole, sprinkle with about . cup sugar, add 'j cup loganberry juice.
