HUNTER (Pacific Northwest Correspondent) WASHINGTON, Sept. 21. With the state department intent upon building the United States world com merce to the 1020 level through re ciprocity treaties, an increase of mil lions of dollars in the trade between the Pacific northweat nnd Sweden and Belgium would be possible if the pro gram la a success. Trade between thla country and Sweden haa fallen to almost one-third of Ita value of 1W29 while the Belgium United Statea commerce waa down but alightly leas. In 1U20 the United Stntea exported to Sweden goods val ued at $53,701,001 and in 1033 this trade had declined to a value of only $18,697,580. Belgium importa from the statea amounted to $114,854,402 in 1028 and but $43,267,506 last year. There waa a aomewhat amaller de cline in exports from those countries to the United States over the period, the goods from Sweden amounting to $52,086,608 in 1020 and but $30,072, 309 in 1033. From Belgium came goods valued at $74,047,843 In 1020 and $23,103,235 In 1033. Products of the stntea of Washing ton, Oregon, Idaho and Utnh aent to those nationa showed a proportionate decline, the exports of fish, wheat, furs, boxed and barreled apples, saw ed timbers nnd other lumber, flour, fruits and copper dropping in value from $22,130,125 In 1020 to $4,350,- 944 Inst yeor. nile all of such exports to the two European nations naturally did .not come from those four stnteB, It was pointed out that in case of ramd ln- creaseH in business in those commodi ties, the Pacific northwest should profit considerably. Figures were not obtainable to show just what portiona of those exports came from any par ticular area. The atate department has invited written atatementa concerning exports and importa of all articles to the- two countries. Written statements for Belgium will be received until October 22 and October 20 has been 8et aside for oral .presentation of views on the subject. Written atatementa on Swed ish trade will lie received until Octo ber 20 with oral atatementa to be presented November 6. 21 Names Added To Choral Group Twenty-one names were added to the roster of the newly organized Wo men's Choral group following the lost tryouts, Monday evening in the studio of the director, John Stnrk Evans.
