Donald Petersen was elected delegate to the two weeks' 4-H club summer school at O.S.C. and Kent Petersen as alternate. A number of the mem bers will go on scholarship. Mr. Ton seth is Alaskan delegate, W. T. Cochran, a pioneer of the Brownsville section who now re sides at Albany, observed his SSth birthday one day this week and went to Salem where a reception was given in his honor. He also went to Portland for a visit at the home of his son, Roy Cochran. Delegates to the Oregon state convention in Portland this week in cluded Mrs. Charles Howe. Mrs. Josephine Starr, Mrs. Jennie Tycer and Rev, Ralph Wolverton. Brownsville News Belknap Camp to Get Improvements CAMP BELKNAP. CCC. McKenzie Hridge, May 12. (Special) Major Franklin and Captain E. D. Cook, from Vancouver Barracks district headquarters, visited Camp Belknap, May 2 on their inspection tour of tho district. Captain Cook ordered ;onst ruc tion of fire ladders for a more effec tive fire protection fur the camp. This order is being carried out in all camps of the Vancouver district. Capt. Cook . also ordered that a new and much more convenient kitchen be built on the south side of the mens hall rather than on the eastern cud. as it it at present. Company 927 is organizing a base-, ball, track nnd boxing team. Several members have turned out to the ' various events. It is contemplated ; that a boxing bout will be held j around June 30. Lieut. After searching three days for a suitable tree to make a new flag pole, Red Morse, camp carpenter finally reported in that he hadn't as yet found one with a knoh on the top. FLORENCE. May 12.
