I Rauch spent Tuesday morning at Peerhorn school repairing the pump, also sev eral seats and other things pertain ing to the school. Hot Soup Will Be Served to Pupils REEDSPORT, Jan. 12. (Special) Plans for hot soup to be .erved to underweight children in the local grade school are being tried. It i found that some 25 children needed the food, and many other, will also be served. Those buying the soup will provide sufficient revenue to make the project self-supporting, the work being done by mothers, and the girls will wash the dishes. The cooking will be done in the domestic science room at the high school, and the soup served by the grade teachers in a room prepared for the purpose. Provisions for the initiation of the plan were furnished by local merchants and butcners. Thurston News THURSTON. Jan. 12. (Special) Afr. Ktnnshie of Eddvville. Neb.. who with her sister-in-law, Mrs. King of Elsie, Neb., has been visiting at the Dan Bnugb home at Thurston and with other relatives leu last xnurs day for 1m Grande where she will visit a brother, before returning to her home in Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. "Win. Culver and Mrs. King motored as far as Portland with her. Mrs. King will spend more time in this part of Ore gon. Miss Ella Bnugh is spending this week in Eusene visiting with relatives and friends. The Thurston Community bridge club is meeting this week, at the home of Elva and Loyd Gray Friday evening. The McKenzie Valley Farm Loan association met Tuesday afternoon at the home of C. W. Hansen at Thurs ton. The same board that served last year was re-elected and include. George Neff, Alva Armitage, Fred Hussel, C. L. Hastings, and C. W. Hansen. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gustnfsen of Fnaene were euests one night this week of Mr. and Mrs. Russel of Thiirsfon. The McKenzie River high school board motored to Springfield Tue dav evening and met with the Spring field high school board in a business sessiion. All the board member, from the McKenzie district were present. Mrs. Lester Millican i. spending several days this week with her par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Collins in Eugene helping care for her father, who is seriously ill.
