Hot Soup Will Be
Served to Pupils
REEDSPORT, Jan. 12. (Special)
Plans for hot soup to be .erved to
underweight children in the local
grade school are being tried. It i
found that some 25 children needed
the food, and many other, will also
be served. Those buying the soup
will provide sufficient revenue to
make the project self-supporting, the
work being done by mothers, and the
girls will wash the dishes.
The cooking will be done in the
domestic science room at the high
school, and the soup served by the
grade teachers in a room prepared
for the purpose. Provisions for the
initiation of the plan were furnished
by local merchants and butcners.

club is meeting this week, at the
home of Elva and Loyd Gray Friday
evening.
The McKenzie Valley Farm Loan
association met Tuesday afternoon at
the home of C. W. Hansen at Thurs
ton. The same board that served last
year was re-elected and include.
George Neff, Alva Armitage, Fred
Hussel, C. L. Hastings, and C. W.
Hansen.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Gustnfsen of
Fnaene were euests one night this
week of Mr. and Mrs. Russel of
Thiirsfon.
The annual telephone meeting of
the 14 and 15 telepnone lines was
held Monday night.
