JT Richard Fart helm fun bis made much of the greatest role of his career in "The Finger Points" which opens at the Heilig Thursday Ha plays the tiart of a Big Town reporter who in ordnr to get money to spend on the "sob nister" he loves, covers crime in exchange for bribes he extorts from gangdom. The story is based on the recent notorious cane of a reporter who sold the honor of his paper to enrich him self by gang graft. All the hair-raising adventure which marked the origi nal has been caught by these two masters of melodrama. Barthelmess portrays with rare un derstanding the changing character of the young man who comes from the South with high ideals as to the duty of the press to the public, and grad ually falls under the power of greed which finally brings its retribution with the added tragedy that the pub lic never finds out thnt he is not the honorable man he pretends to be. Fay Wray as the "sob sister" of th newspaper who loves the unfor tunate youth and keeps his secret to the last, gives n performance of rare beauty. Regis Toomey, an the tippling reporter who also loves the girl, and who. unwittingly, brings down the vengeance of the gang on his frieud, does admirable work. WISE CIO' WILL score of powerful roles, is seen as Cherry M:ilotte. Louis AVolhrim. Joe MrCren. Raymond Ilatton. Jean Ar thur. Blanche Sweet. Gavin CJ onion. Purnell Pratt and Ivan Linow round out the notable cast. Director (ieorge Archainband took his company of more than one hun dred players into the heart of Alaska, whvre two months were spent in shooting the scenes in th'ir actual locale. "The Lawyers Secret" is the story of a professional man's fight to pre serve the ethics of his profession and his love for a girl, Fay Wray, by stifling his natural human duty to prevent an injustice to an Innocent man. Arlen. on trial for his life, for a crime he did not commit, nearly pays the supreme penalty because Clive Brook cannot reveal a secret confided to him by Rogers, his client and Fny Wrnv's brother.
