Ices Game Winners Open Series At Silverton Tonight Aumsville's American Legion junior base bailers blasted across five runs in the final inning last night at Waters Field, fought off a three-run comeback by the Capital Posters of Salem in the same panel and won the big one over Bill Beven'i local crew 11-8. The loss eliminated Salem from further district competition. The win vaulted the jubilant Aumsvilles of coach Larry Gower into a final standings tie with Silverton, and these two clubs will tonight start their best-two-of-three playoff ae ries at Silverton. Milwaukee reclaimed second place, defeating Pittsburgh 5-4 as the Chicago Cubs knocked Philadelphia back to third with a S-2 decision. Brooklyn took fourth place from Cincinnati, handing the Redlegs a seventh consecutive oeteat 3-1 r in a game free of incident after Thursday night's player battles which led to four $100 fines. In the American League, the New York Yankees gained their largest lead of the season, four games, with a 4-2 victory at Kan sas City at Harry Simpson, late of the A's, made his first home run as a Yank good ot three runt in toe eighth.
