junior base bailers blasted across
five runs in the final inning last
night at Waters Field, fought
off a three-run comeback by the
Capital Posters of Salem in the
same panel and won the big one
over Bill Beven'i local crew 11-8.
The loss eliminated Salem from
further district competition. The
win vaulted the jubilant Aumsvilles
of coach Larry Gower into a final
standings tie with Silverton, and
these two clubs will tonight start
their best-two-of-three playoff ae
ries at Silverton.

at Aumsville Monday night, and a
third, if necessary, on a "neutral"

Bevens threw IS players, includ
ing all lour of his pitchers into last
night's crucial in an attempt to
