Nov. 10 1 -New findings of "atomic time keeping" suggest that North America may be heading into an other major ice age, a govern ment geologist said Jpday. The possibility exists, said Dr. Thor N. V, Karlstrom of the U. S. Geological Survey, that climatic conditions conducive to the expan sion of glaciers may even now, be brewing in the arctic end that within the next 10,000 to 15.000 years ice might spread over Can ada and reach the V. S. border. . He told a reporter about this in amplifying a technical report he made to the fall meeting of the National Academy of Sciences. His report dealt with new find ings about glaciers of the past which he said have been made possible by the use of "radiocar bon dating" techniques. time keoping" is a method of computing the age of organic ma terial by mean of th radioac t:vily iff mils.
