Four Sisters to Entertain r One of the larger parties will be the coffee for which Mrs. Charles C. Clarke, Mrs. James R. Humphrey, and their sisters, Mrs. Myron H. Soupene of Galesburg, 111. and Mrs. Thomas G. Harvey of Indianapolis, who are currently visiting in the capital, wilL be hostesses on Thursday morning. Guests have been invited to call at the Fairmount Hill home of the Clarkes on West Superior Street between 10 and 12 o'clock. Coffee to Welcome a Newcomer Mrs. Sam F. Speerstra has invited guests to a coffee Tuesday morning for the pleasure of Mrs. Ritchie M. Turner, who recently moved here from Portland. Friends have been invited to call be tween 10 and 12 o'clock to meet the charming newcomer. Mr. Tur ner will be the superintendent and assistant manager of the new Jieier and Frank Store in Salem. The Turners have four children, Valerie, Christine, Ritchie II and Kathryn, and new at home in their newly built residence in Candalaria. Parties to Honor Visitors Several parties will fete Judge and Mrs. Thomas Grubbs of Mt Sterling, Kentucky, who are visiting at the home of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds Allen. Tuesday afternoon Mrs. Leon Perry will entertain at a 1 o'clock luncheon at her Fairmount Hill home for the pleasure of Mrs. Grubbs and 'a few of her longtime friends. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Roth and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Potts will be hosts for an informal dinner Wednesday night at the lat ter's'Morningside home in compliment to Judge and Mrs. Grubbs. Covers will be placed for the honor guests, Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds Allen, Mr. and Mrs. Homer L. Goulet, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Needham, Mr. and Mrs. James C. Stone, and the hosts. Tea to Fete Laura Smith Mrs. Tom H. Dunham will entertain with an informal au revoir tea Sunday afternoon, August 28 at her Fairmount Hill home, in honor of Miss Laura Smith, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Wilmer C. Smith, who is leaving this fall for Eugene to enter the University of Oregon. A group of Miss Smith's teen-age friends have been invited to call between 3 and 6 o'clock. Miss Jean Lidbeck will greet the guests at the door. .1 Presiding at the tea urn will be Mrs. Wilmer C Smith and at the punch bowl will be Misses Marilyn Shields, Janice Groff and Judith Bale. Miss Collins Tells Troth Mrs. John Collins is announc ing the engagement cf her daugh ter, Sharon Ann, to John S. De Bauw, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. DeBauw of Portland. Miss Collins is a graduate of North Salem High School She is presently employed as a recep tionist for Dr. E. S. Vanderhoof. Mr. DeBauw, who has served with the U. S.
