Brokers pointed out that the climate for the fall has been creat ed by higher money rates. Monday for the second time in two weeks, banks increased their charges for loans to brokers. Losses of 1 to around 5 points were frequent. The big name stocks were hardest hit. Gains at the finish were mostly small, but some amounted to 1 to 3 points.
