MacArthur Defends Use of Minesweepers NEW YORK Wl Gen Douglas MacArthur Tuesday disputed a Japanese report that he Used Japi anese minesweepers in a violation of international law in a War land ing operation by American Ma rines at Wonsan, Korea; in 1950. He said the minesweepers had been used since the end, of World War 11 to clear suspected old. Japanese mines from Wonsan and Other areas and that they were not involved in any belligerency.
