They may be made with your own recipe for yeast rolls or this quicker-mixing way: . . : ' CRANBERRY-ORANGE ROLLS (Makes about It Kalis) , 1 package prepared hot roll 14 - i mix i 1 1 tablespoons melted mar . i ' garine " 'v -1 , .-. 1 tablespoon grated orange ; rind : '. V t tablespoons sugar j Vi cup water - cup sugar 1 cup fresh cranberries 1 cup confectioner's sugar ' 4 tablespoons water hi teaspoon lemon extract - , Prepare hot roll mix according to package directions. When ready to shape, roll and cut into 3-inch rounds. Spread with melted mar garine. Mix grated orange rind and 3 tablespoons sugar; springle over melted margarine. To shape into Parker House rolls, fold top half of roll ' over bottom bail. Place in greased 12x9-inch pan. Let rise until double in bulk. Bake according to package direc tions. Meanwhile, boil water and sugar together - 5 minutes. Add cranberries and boil without stir ring 5 minutes longer or until cranberries are candied. Drain thoroughly; place v cranberries on paper towehng to absorb excess moisture. Blend confectioners' sugar, water and extract to smooth paste. After rolls are baked, re move from pan. Ice while still warm. Top 'with candied cran berries. - Here's another bread using cranberries: : CRANBERRY QUICK BREAD i lt cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 cup sugar teaspoon cinnamon " 'a teaspoon 1 allspice H teaspoon clove 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 egg 1 ' cup milk 2 tablespoons melted short ening 1 cup fresh ground cran-. berries Vx cup chopped walnuts 4 cup dried ground apricots Sift together first eight ingredi ents. Add whole wheat flour. Combine egg, milk and shorten- nig; add to dry ingredients mix ing thoroughly. . Stir In cran berries, nuts and apricots; pour into well-greased loaf pan lined with wax paper (9x4x3). Bake in mdoerate oven ISO degrees about one hour and ten minutes. or until done. Makes one loaf.
